The 27-year-old woman belongs to Himachal Pradesh. She scaled four 8000-metre peaks — Mt Everest (May 22), Mt Annapurna (April 28), Mt Kanchenjunga (May 12) and Mt Lhotse (May 23) — within a month.

She has always been fascinated by mountains and even climbed small hills near her village Panjrol in Kandhaghat tehsil of Himachal’s Solan district.
Her mother Shanti Devi was sure that Baljeet Kaur would accomplish her dream of becoming a mountaineer. Reportedly, Baljeet has three siblings. Notably, her father Amrik Singh used to work as a bus driver with Himachal Road Transport Corporation.

Baljeet completed her studies in the Government Senior Secondary School at Mamligh, a neighbouring village. She also enrolled herself with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and that’s when she started her journey to become mountaineer.
Besides, Baljeet Kaur is the first Indian female mountaineer to have successfully climbed the 8,167-m high Mt Dhaulagiri. She indeed has an inspiring story and amazing journey. That's the reason why every body is proud of her.
