Uorfi Javed Defends Armaan Malik's Polygamous Relationship Amidst Controversy
Uorfi Javed, a celebrity known for her outspoken views on gender issues, society, and politics, recently made headlines not just for her bold fashion choices but for her vocal support of Armaan Malik’s polygamous relationship. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Javed defended Malik’s relationship with his two wives, emphasizing that polygamy is still prevalent today.
Javed shared a picture of Armaan Malik with his wives, Payal and Kritika Malik, and revealed her long-standing acquaintance with the trio. In her post, she stated, "I have known the family for quite some time and I can vouch they are the nicest people I've ever met! If the three of them are happy, who are we to judge. The concept of polygamy exists since long, it's even popular till date in some religions. If the three of them are okay, we are no one to comment!"
This defense came in response to TV actor Devoleena Bhattacharjee’s criticism of the makers of ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’ for featuring Malik and his wives. Bhattacharjee expressed her disapproval in a lengthy post, condemning the show’s decision to invite Malik and his wives as participants. "Do you think this is entertainment? This is not entertainment; it's filth. Don't take this lightly because it's not just a reel; it's real. I can't comprehend how anyone can call this shamelessness entertainment. I feel disgusted just hearing about it. Gross. In just 6/7 days, love happened, marriage happened, and then the same thing with the wife's best friend. This is beyond my imagination," she wrote.
Bhattacharjee concluded her post by critiquing societal norms and the perpetuation of mistakes. “As a society, we are already on a destructive path. And yes, just because a mistake has been happening for years, doesn't mean it should continue. This justifies every wrong action as being right. In my eyes, this is wrong. Polygamy is wrong and it will always remain wrong. But kya karein hain kuch aise ki jab tak khud nahi bhugat te tab tak samajh nahi ata (But what can we do when there are some people who don't realise unless it happens to them). So all the best.”
Armaan Malik, a popular YouTuber, along with his wives Payal and Kritika Malik, has stirred mixed reactions on social media with their participation in Bigg Boss OTT 3. While some users have strongly criticized Malik for promoting polygamy, others have supported their choice. The family is known to have four children: Chirayu, Tuba, Ayan, and Zaid.
