Kangana Ranaut Criticizes Former Punjab MP Simranjit Singh Mann for 'Trivializing Rape'
In a fiery social media post, Bollywood actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut lashed out at former Punjab MP Simranjit Singh Mann for making what she described as a "trivialization of rape." The Mandi MP expressed her outrage, stating, "It seems this country will never stop trivializing rape. Today, this senior politician compared getting raped to riding a bicycle."
Kangana Ranaut didn't hold back in her condemnation, highlighting how deeply rooted violence against women is in India's patriarchal society. "No wonder rapes and violence against women for fun are so deeply ingrained in the psyche of this nation that it is casually used to tease or mock a woman, even if she is a high-profile filmmaker or politician," she added.
This Khalistani Simranjit Singh Mann is not mocking Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut but he's actually mocking the pain of Rape Victims. This kind of a**holes needs to be booked under a stringent section and jailed. They may be potential Predators. #KanganaRanaut #justasking pic.twitter.com/eZrucpxrgI

The controversy erupted after Shiromani Akali Dal president, Simranjit Singh Mann, made highly objectionable remarks about Kangana Ranaut. The 79-year-old former IPS officer and Khalistan proponent was addressing a party event in Karnal ahead of the Haryana Assembly polls, scheduled for October 1, when he made the shocking statement. Mann said, "You can ask her how rape happens so that people can be explained how rape happens. She has a lot of experience of rape."
Former MP Simranjit Singh Mann is an open advocate of Khalistan. Such below the belt comments by former MP because Kangana Ranaut's #Emergency is coming on 6th September which will unfold the truth. Absolutely disgusting!!#KanganaRanaut pic.twitter.com/Q0wDLm5hxH

Mann's comments were in response to a clip posted by Kangana Ranaut, in which she criticized the farmers' protest against the now-repealed agricultural laws. In her interview, Ranaut suggested that a "Bangladesh-like situation" could have unfolded in India if not for the country's strong leadership. She also claimed that during the protests, incidents of "bodies hanging and rapes taking place" had occurred.
In light of the controversy, the Bharatiya Janata Party issued a statement, directing Kangana Ranaut to refrain from making similar statements in the future. The incident has sparked widespread debate and criticism, with many condemning Mann's remarks as insensitive and offensive.
