Junior Mehmood's Final Wish Fulfilled by Jeetendra; Picture Goes Viral
Naeem Sayyed, popularly known as Junior Mehmood, gained fame as a child actor for his remarkable impersonation of the legendary comic figure Mehmood Ali from the 1950s-’60s era. His talent was so outstanding that the senior artist himself gave him the name 'Junior Mehmood.' Junior Mehmood made notable appearances in films like ‘Brahmachari’ (1968), ‘Caravan’ (1971), and ‘Haathi Mere Saathi’ (1971).
Recently, it became public knowledge that Junior Mehmood, now 67, is battling stage-4 stomach cancer and is currently recuperating at his home in Bandra. Despite the film industry's reputation for being self-centered, Junior Mehmood has experienced an outpouring of support from various celebrities during this challenging time.
On a recent Tuesday evening, comedian Johnny Lever and veteran superstar Jeetendra paid a visit to Junior Mehmood after receiving his request to meet. The sight of their fellow actor, once animated on screen, now in pain, deeply affected Jeetendra. He expressed his distress, sharing, "He is in so much pain, he is unable to open his eyes. To see him in this state breaks my heart."
Jeetendra originally planned to visit Junior Mehmood on a Sunday while on his way to Mount Mary Church. However, upon Johnny Lever's suggestion to come sooner, Jeetendra altered his plans, responding to the urgency of the situation. He explained, "I heard he wanted to meet me…", highlighting the emotional connection between the two colleagues.
Jeetendra, who has also worked with Junior Mehmood's wife Lata in a film titled 'Suhagaan,' expressed his concern for the ailing actor. In the course of his illness, Junior Mehmood has lost 36 kilos. Jeetendra conveyed his prayers, saying, "I will keep Junior in my prayers. I hope he has a peaceful evening and peaceful days ahead."
