'Ajmer 92' movie: Know The Real Story of Infamous 1992 Ajmer Gang Rape Case

'Ajmer 92' movie: The upcoming Hindi film, Ajmer 92, has already stirred controversy ahead of its release this year. The movie delves into the dark and unsettling events surrounding the gang rape case that unfolded in Ajmer, Rajasthan, in 1992. By shedding light on this true story, the film aims to explore a deeply troubling incident that shocked the nation and sparked public outrage. However, its portrayal of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and a specific community has raised concerns among some individuals.

Unveiling a Disturbing Chapter

Ajmer 92 is scheduled for release in July 2023 and centers around the horrific gang rape case that transpired in the city of Ajmer over three decades ago. The narrative of the film revolves around the shocking revelation that a prominent family associated with the Ajmer Dargah was involved in a series of gang rapes and blackmail activities, targeting numerous young girls, including minors.

The Scandal Unearthed

The origins of the Ajmer 92 film lie in a scandalous series of events that occurred in Ajmer in 1992, which were brought to light by a report published in the Hindi newspaper, Dainik Navjyoti, widely circulated in Jaipur.

According to the reports, Farooq and Nafis Chishty, members of the influential Khadim family entrusted with the administration of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, were at the forefront of a group of young men involved in the heinous acts. Their modus operandi involved enticing, gang-raping, and blackmailing young women at a secluded farmhouse.

Investigations conducted subsequently revealed that Farooq Chishty had developed a friendship with a young girl from the Sophia Senior Secondary School in Ajmer. Taking advantage of this connection, he coerced her into introducing him to her schoolmates. These unsuspecting girls were then lured, one by one, to the farmhouse where they fell victim to the gang rapes orchestrated by the Chishty brothers and their associates.

The Plight of the Victims

The victims, ranging in age from 11 to 20, endured the horrifying experience of being sexually assaulted at the farmhouse. The perpetrators took compromising photographs of the girls, subsequently using them to intimidate and silence the victims, preventing them from filing complaints. The scope of this abhorrent crime is staggering, with reports suggesting that there were more than 250 victims.

Allegations of Inaction

Shockingly, it was reported that the Ajmer police were aware of these developments but refrained from initiating investigations due to the influence wielded by the Khadim family. However, when the explicit photographs were leaked, the police were compelled to take action, leading to the apprehension of the perpetrators.

Ajmer 92 is poised to provide audiences with a harrowing glimpse into a real-life incident that occurred in Ajmer in 1992. By recounting the events surrounding the gang rape case, the film aims to raise awareness about the disturbing realities of sexual violence and its consequences. While the movie's release has already generated controversy due to its portrayal of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and its implications for a specific community, it is essential to recognize the film's underlying purpose of shedding light on an important chapter in the nation's history.
