Vatt Savitri Vrat 2022: On Vrat Savitri, all married ladies pray to the banyan tree for their husbands' long lives. Every year on the new moon day of the Krishna Paksha of the Jyeshtha month, the day is observed. The Amavasya tithi will fall on May 30, 2022 this year. Savitri returned her deceased spouse Satyavan from Yamraj with her love and adoration on this day, according to Hindu mythology.

The Purnimant and Amavasyant calendars have different dates that are fifteen days apart, but the festival's core remains the same.

This Vrat commemorates Savitri, Satyawan's spiritual wife who is respected for conquering Lord Yama, the God of Death. Yamraj was obliged to save her husband's life because of her dedication and faith.

Married women pay their respects to the banyan tree by applying 16 layers of cosmetics to it.

Under the banyan tree, women worship Savitri-Satyavan and other ruling goddesses.

As a result, Vat Savitri is its name. The blessing of a happy and wealthy married life is received as a result of this fast.

Vat Savitri's fast is observed for the happiness and prosperity of the entire family.

In truth, Savitri received from Yamraj not only the return of her husband's life, but also the blessing of the family's well-being.

The Purnimant calendar followed by women in North Indian states such as Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana would celebrate  Vat Savitri Vrat on Jyeshtha Amavasya Tithi which is May 30.

Vat Savitri Vrat, popularly known as Vat Purnima, will, however, be observed on Jyeshtha Purnima Tithi in Maharashtra and Gujarat. It will be held on June 14th this year.
