SS Rajamouli, the acclaimed filmmaker of Indian cinema, has a new project in the works - a new Ramayana-Verse. Rajamouli, who is widely known for his love for Indian mythology, has reportedly roped in South sensation Mahesh Babu for an African jungle adventure that is said to have a Hanuman-inspired character.
Rajamouli is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in India, having directed several critically acclaimed and commercially successful movies, including Magadheera, Eega, Bahubali, Bahubali 2, and RRR. His last project, RRR, which starred Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, received international acclaim, including an Oscar.

According to reports, Rajamouli's new project is still in the writing stage, and the team is aiming to start filming by the end of this year. The film is expected to be one of the most expensive movies ever made in Indian cinema and will be extensively shot in the Amazon forest.
While the film is an African jungle adventure, the character played by Mahesh Babu is said to have traits similar to Lord Hanuman, who is known for his courage and his fight against all odds in the jungles. The trajectory of the character will follow the route of Ramayana, but with a spin given by Rajamouli, according to a source close to the development.
The source further added that both Disney and Sony Pictures are in a race to secure the rights for the film. Both studios have reportedly promised world-class technical support to Rajamouli for the movie.

Rajamouli has often drawn inspiration from Indian mythology in his previous works, and the latest example is RRR, where the characters of Rama and Bheem, played by Ram Charan and Jr NTR, respectively, were inspired by the epic Ramayana. His fascination with Indian mythology has earned him a devoted following and has helped him create some of the most memorable characters in Indian cinema.
