According to Vijay Kiragandur, the Founder of Hombale Films, Rishab Shetty deliberately chose to begin filming in August due to the requirement of the rainy season for a significant portion of the movie's production. This decision reflects the meticulous planning and attention to detail involved in bringing Kantara 2 to life.
In terms of budget, 'Kantara 2' is expected to surpass its predecessor. While the first movie was made on a tight budget, it turned out to be a major hit. The sequel, however, promises to offer an even grander cinematic experience, with no compromises made on the production value.
One interesting aspect to note is that Kantara 2 is actually a prequel, rather than a continuation of the original Kantara. Rishab Shetty, both the actor and director of the film, explained, "What you've seen is actually Part 2, and Part 1 will arrive next year. I had the idea while I was filming Kantara. It's due to the complexity of Kantara's past. Now we are getting further into the details. To reveal anything about the movie while research is still being done would be premature."
Rishab Shetty himself wrote the script for Kantara 2 in March, on the auspicious day of Ugadi. He recently completed the first draft of the script, showcasing his commitment to delivering an exceptional storyline. Fans can expect the movie to grace theaters in 2024, as the team takes the necessary time to bring this cinematic masterpiece to fruition.
Kantara, the film draws inspiration from the local ritual dance style known as Bhoota Kola. Set against the scenic backdrop of coastal Karnataka, Kantara captures the essence of the region's vibrant culture. Alongside Rishab Shetty, the film stars Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, Pramod Shetty, Prakash Tuminad, Naveen D Padil, and many other talented actors who contribute to the captivating narrative.
