Panchayat Season 3 Twitter Review: Fans Appreciate Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav's Web Series
One of the most eagerly awaited web series, Panchayat, has returned with its third season, and the excitement is palpable. The first episode recently premiered, and fans have already dived into it. The series features Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, and Sanvikaa in key roles. This season, the light-hearted drama continues to unfold in Phulera, where the villagers make every effort to bring back their original secretary, Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra Kumar), leading to intensified conflicts with the local MLA.
Season 2 concluded with a heavy emotional moment when news of Rahul's death, an army man and the son of Phulera Panchayat’s deputy chief Prahlad (Faisal Malik), reached the village. The climax saw the Panchayat head, Manju Devi (Neena Gupta), standing up to the local MLA (Pankaj Jha) as he attempted to exploit the tragedy for political gain. Another significant moment was the potential transfer of Panchayat secretary Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar).
Manju Devi is now more involved in Panchayat affairs, confidently navigating political challenges. Abhishek is content to be back in Phulera after his transfer is halted. While the setting remains familiar, the new season introduces more drama and sub-plots.
A notable development this season is the subtle transformation of certain characters. Manju Devi, who was previously content to let her husband lead, now shows her growing political acumen. The show has meticulously tracked her evolution into a competent Sarpanch, highlighting her support for her daughter Rinki (Sanvikaa) in pursuing education and employment.
The central conflict revolves around the villagers' primary concern — the lack of a proper road — and the MLA's attempts to settle scores with the Pradhan (Raghubir Yadav). Unlike other shows set in small towns, Panchayat maintains its charm by avoiding violence and expletives. The tension in Phulera rises, but the show refrains from shocking the audience with unnecessary violence.
Despite retaining the essence of its previous seasons, some viewers feel that the writing in Panchayat 3 doesn't fully meet the high standards set by the show. There are also pacing issues that could be addressed.
Overall, Panchayat Season 3 offers a warm, engaging continuation of the story, making it a must-watch. You can stream it now on Amazon Prime Video.
