How Sidhu Moose Wala’s Posthumous Music Continues to Break Records: The Release of ‘Attach’

It has been nearly two years since the tragic death of Sidhu Moose wala, a luminary in the world of music whose legacy continues to captivate and inspire. Despite his untimely passing, his family and team have been resolute in ensuring that his unreleased work reaches his devoted fans. The latest addition to this posthumous collection is the track titled “Attach,” a collaboration with UK-based artist Steel Banglez and British rapper and singer Fredo. Scheduled for release on August 30, 2024, this song will mark Sidhu Moosewala’s eighth posthumous release.

The announcement of “Attach” is eagerly anticipated, as it follows a string of releases that have kept Moosewala’s spirit alive in the musical landscape. Prior to this, his most recent posthumous release was the track “410,” which featured a verse by Sunny Malton. Released in April 2024, the official video for “410” has garnered approximately 47 million views and 1.3 million likes on Sunny Malton’s YouTube channel. The video credits both Sidhu Moosewala and Sunny Malton for the lyrics and composition, providing a poignant reminder of Moosewala's enduring artistry.

Since his passing, Sidhu Moosewala’s team has been diligent in releasing his music. Notable posthumous tracks include:

“SYL” (June 23, 2022): This track, however, faced controversy and was removed from YouTube due to its contentious lyrics concerning the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal. Despite its removal, it achieved 377,000 likes and 14 million views before being taken down.

“Vaar” (November 8, 2022): Another significant release, it has continued to resonate with audiences.

“Mera Na”: A collaboration with Nigerian artist Burna Boy and Steel Banglez, this track highlights Moosewala’s ability to blend different musical influences.

“Chorni” (July 7, 2023): Featuring rapper Divine, this track adds a unique dimension to Moosewala’s posthumous repertoire.

“Watchout” (November 12, 2023): A notable addition that has been well-received by fans.

“Drippy” (February 2, 2024): Collaborating with Mxrci and AR Paisley, this song further underscores Moosewala’s diverse musical collaborations.

While some of these releases have faced challenges, the majority have been met with critical and commercial success. Most of Moosewala’s posthumous tracks have exceeded 2 million likes and amassed views ranging from 50 to 75 million, underscoring the enduring appeal of his music.
