CISF Clarifies: Kulwinder Kaur Still Suspended Amid Ongoing Inquiry Following Kangana Ranaut Incident
Kulwinder Kaur, a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel stationed at Chandigarh Airport, who slapped Bollywood actor and Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut was suspended after the altercation. Reports suggested that Kulwinder Kaur has now been reinstated and assigned a new post.
However, the reports were fake as the CISF issued a statement and clarified that she remains suspended and an inquiry is still going on the the slap incident.
Despite initial reports that Kaur had been transferred and reinstated in Bengaluru, the CISF stated to clarify her status. A spokesperson told ANI, “CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, is still suspended and a departmental inquiry against her is still on.”
In a video that circulated widely, Kaur can be heard referencing remarks made by Ranaut regarding Punjabi women during the farmers' protest, which reportedly provoked her actions. Ranaut had allegedly made disparaging comments, implying that women were paid to protest at Delhi borders.
The incident occurred during a routine security check at Chandigarh Airport on June 7th. An altercation between Kaur and Ranaut quickly escalated, culminating in Kaur slapping the actress. Videos and images of the incident spread rapidly across social media, showing Kaur in a heated exchange with Ranaut.
