Bigg Boss OTT Winner Elvish Yadav Under ED Spotlight for Money Laundering

YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav is poised to face interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today at their Lucknow office. This investigation is part of a broader probe into alleged money laundering activities connected to the supply of snake venom at rave parties held in Noida hotels. Although Yadav was previously charged by the Noida police for his alleged involvement in the venom supply and subsequently granted bail, the current focus of the ED’s inquiry is to ascertain whether he might find legal reprieve in the money laundering case.

The ED’s scrutiny began in May 2024, when they launched an investigation under the Money Laundering Act concerning the controversial supply of snake venom. The initial probe conducted by the Noida police revealed significant financial transactions linked to the venom distribution. Yadav, who was arrested by the Noida police on March 17, was granted bail only five days later. In connection with these money laundering allegations, the ED has previously questioned Haryana singer Rahul Yadav, also known as Fazilpuria, particularly due to a snake's appearance in one of Fazilpuria’s music videos. Additionally, Yadav’s close associates, Ishwar Yadav and Vinay Yadav, have also been interrogated by the ED.

On April 6, the Noida police submitted a comprehensive 1,200-page charge sheet against Elvish Yadav and seven other individuals, detailing violations under wildlife protection laws. This charge sheet emerged six months after the revelations of the snake venom supply at the rave parties. The document alleges that the venom was illicitly smuggled and used during these gatherings. Elvish Yadav has consistently denied these allegations, asserting his non-involvement in the venom supply activities. It is pertinent to note that narcotics-related charges initially levied against Yadav by the Noida police have since been dismissed.
