A Rapido driver sent an unpleasant text message to a woman after she provided her whereabouts over WhatsApp, in yet another instance of unpleasant action by taxi drivers and bike taxi aggregators against female customers.

The need for tougher privacy regulations on ride-sharing applications was brought to light by a Twitter user who posted an upsetting screenshot of conversations with someone she claimed to be her Rapido driving partner.

In the five texts in the screenshot, the accused texts the woman in Hindi at 1:25 AM to inquire about her wakefulness before telling her that he only came for the pick-up due to her voice and display photo.

In response to the incident, Rapido also asked for an apology and said that they trying to look for the id and they are looking into the matter.

In addition to highlighting that app-based aggregators are no longer completely safe, numerous users asked the bike-sharing company to take action against the driver.

Rapido is now not safe, one woman wrote.

Women customers have reported several of these events in the past, leading companies like Swiggy to "deactivate" the accounts of wrongdoers. They claim that food delivery partners or cab drivers have texted or called them.
