The Truth Behind Samantha's Instagram Health Tip: Expert Warns of Dangers

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a luminary in the South Indian film industry, has garnered widespread acclaim for her outstanding performances in a plethora of exceptional films. Recently, however, she has found herself at the centre of controversy following her contraction of a common viral infection. In a well-meaning attempt to offer an alternative to conventional medication, Samantha shared a home remedy with her followers. This advice has sparked sharp criticism from Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips, also known as The Liver Doctor, who has condemned her recommendations as perilous.

Samantha Shares Her Tips on Instagram Stories

Taking to Instagram Stories, Samantha suggested the use of a nebulizer with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and distilled water as a substitute for unnecessary medications during a viral infection. She extolled the benefits of this concoction, claiming it worked like magic and helped avoid the overuse of drugs. Her intent, it appears, was to promote a more natural approach to managing common illnesses.

Dr. Abby Philips' Strong Opposition

Dr. Abby Philips, a well-respected figure in the medical community, swiftly denounced Samantha's advice. He criticized her for disseminating such recommendations on a public platform like Instagram, labelling her as uninformed about health and science. Dr. Philips highlighted warnings from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, which explicitly caution against the inhalation of hydrogen peroxide due to its potential dangers.

The Risks of Misinformation

Dr. Philips underscored the grave risks associated with Samantha's advice, stressing that such actions could jeopardize public health and result in severe consequences, including fines and imprisonment. He called for regulatory intervention, questioning whether India's health ministry or any other authoritative body would address the issue of misinformation proliferating on social media platforms or continue to remain passive.
