'Leo' Star Thalapathy Vijay Lands In Legal Trouble; Case File For Promoting Drugs
Leo' Star Thalapathy Vijay Lands In Legal Trouble: 'Leo', the highly anticipated film starring Thalapathy Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is generating significant buzz as one of the most awaited releases of 2023. However, the film's first single, "Naa Ready," released on Vijay's birthday, has landed the team in trouble. Activist RTI Selvam from Chennai's Korukkuppettai has filed a complaint against Vijay and the Leo team, accusing them of glorifying drug usage and rowdyism in the song.
On June 25, RTI Selvam, a prominent activist, submitted an online complaint urging the court to take action against Thalapathy Vijay and the Leo team under the Narcotic Control Act. Selvam, hailing from Chennai, alleges that the "Naa Ready" song promotes the use of drugs and glorifies rowdy behavior. The complaint was officially filed on June 26.
It's worth noting that the Chennai police have been actively organizing various events across the city to combat drug abuse. In these efforts, prominent actors like Karthi and Vijay Antony have shown their support by participating in these events. The growing concern over drug-related issues in society adds to the seriousness of the complaint against Vijay and the Leo team.
Recent reports indicate that Thalapathy Vijay has become the highest-paid actor in India, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The actor has reportedly been paid a staggering 200 crores for his upcoming film, surpassing the remuneration received by any other actor in Indian cinema.
Vijay is currently busy shooting for his forthcoming release, Leo, helmed by director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Once the film's shooting wraps up, Vijay is expected to take a short break before commencing his next project in August. The substantial fee charged by the actor is attributed to the particular film for which he has demanded this hefty sum.
