In a statement from his team, Dhillon explained the inspiration behind the EP’s title: “I'm calling my EP The Brownprint because I want to show our community that there are many avenues to put out Punjabi music. I want us to think of the bigger picture and tap into the impossible. It's no longer about creating history; it's about building a legacy for future generations.” The EP, released through Republic Records, promises to be a significant contribution to Punjabi music and beyond.

The title track, "Brownprint," is a gritty anthem of authenticity, loyalty, and strength, featuring Dhillon's longtime collaborator Shinda Kahlon. This collaboration, along with another with Jazzy B, serves as a powerful declaration of invincibility, celebrating the resilience and strength of the Punjabi community.

The Brownprint also showcases Dhillon's global reach, with collaborations featuring artists from around the world. The track "Losing Myself," underlined by a lithe acoustic guitar, sees Dhillon teaming up with Atlanta rap titan Gunna to deliver a poignant exploration of love, loss, and heartbreak. This track, written by Dhillon's father, Rashpal Singh, marks his songwriting debut and features Dhillon's dynamic vocals alongside a cameo from the hip-hop superstar.

Tracks such as "Distance" and "After Midnight" delve deep into the complexities of human relationships, offering a poignant lament of abandonment, betrayal, and separation. The EP also includes tracks like "Sweet Flower," "315," "To Be Continued," and "Distance," each contributing to the overall emotional depth of the project.

Notably, the collaborative track "Bora Bora" marks Ayra Starr's first venture into the Indian subcontinent's music scene, adding yet another layer of diversity to the EP.

Dhillon has co-produced the majority of the EP, with contributions from a talented lineup including AzizTheShake, Luca Mauti, Ramoon, Roc Legion, Gray Hawken, Tompa, Ben10k, Intense, Chris LaRocca, La ch, Brendan Thomas, Madeleine Kay, and Herman Atwal.

The Brownprint was initially announced earlier this month alongside the release of the Salman Khan-Sanjay Dutt starrer Old Money, further building anticipation for what is sure to be a landmark release in Dhillon's career.
