Singer Gippy Grewal was denied entry into Pakistan via the Wagah border; the report suggests
Gippy Grewal was barred from entry into Pakistan after being halted by Indian immigration officials at the Attari checkpoint on the Wagah border.
According to reports in the media, plans were formed to greet the singer at the border as he prepared to leave for Kartarpur. 'He was to go to Kartarpur at 9:30 am and return to Lahore at 3:30 pm. Some reports say that Gippy was supposed to attend a reception at the Governor's House. He was also scheduled to visit Nankana Sahib before returning to India on January 29 stated the reports.

A media report stated that Gippy Grewal entered Pakistan on a two-day visit with 6-7 others across the Wagah border, but was halted at the Attari checkpoint. 'He was also meant to visit Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Lahore, then attend meetings at the Governor's House before departing for Nankana Sahib the next day to pay respect to him at the Sikh temple'.
