Who is Priyanka Mohite? Everybody is asking the same as they got to know that Priyanka Mohite recently climbed Mount Kanchenjunga and became the first Indian woman to climb five peaks above 8000 metres.

Where is Mount Kanchenjunga?

Mount Kangchenjunga, also known as Kanchenjunga and Khangchendzonga, is the third highest mountain in the world which lies at 8,586 m (28,169 ft) in a section of the Himalayas, the Kangchenjunga Himal. It is bounded on the west by the Tamur River, on the north by the Lhonak Chu and Jongsang La, and on the east by the Teesta River.

The mountain lies in the border region between India's Sikkim and Nepal. Three of the five peaks, namely Main, Central, and South, are on the border while the peaks West and Kangbachen are in Nepal's Taplejung District.

Who is Priyanka Mohite?

Priyanka Mohite hails from Maharashtra's Satara. She has become the first Indian woman to climb five peaks above 8000 metres. The milestone was hit after she climbed Mount Kanchenjunga on Thursday.

The 30-year-old Priyanka Mohite climbed the third highest peak on Earth, Mount Kanchenjunga, on May 5 at around 4:42 pm. Her brother Akash Mohite had shared the news. On the work front, Priyanka works for a pharmaceutical company in Bengaluru.

In 2020, Priyanka won the prestigious Tenzing Norgay Adventure Award and climbed Mount Everest in 2013, Mount Lhotse in 2018, Mount Makalu in 2019 and Annapurna 1 in 2021.

Notably, she is the first Indian woman to climb Annapurna 1 and Makalu.
