'Adipurush' OTT release date, platform; Here's everything you should know about it's digital premiere

OTT release: One of the Bollywood's most controversial movie 'Adipurush' made it's way to the theatres on July 16, 2023. Later wrapped in clashes for numerous reasons, the movie became questionable on  numerous occasions. Although the movie has grossed an immaculate collection at the global box office which is more than Rs. 420 crore. After the huge success at the box office, the makers have earlier decided to bring in the magnum opus on digital platform on September 2023. But the film has caught the attention of the masses by coming in earlier than expected. Yes, the officials have launched 'Adipurush' digitally without making any announcement, rather quite.

OTT platforms

The epic drama is now available on streaming platforms, Netflix and Amazon Prime both. After two months of it's theatrical release, the unannounced movie is available in four major South Indian languages on Prime video i.e. Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada. While on the other hand on Netflix, one can easily find the Hindi version of the epic movie.

Casts and Crew

The movie which is made encircling around the epic Hindu mythology - Ramayana, it was curated with a magnum budget of Rs. 600 crore, listing it among one of the most expensive movie in the history of Indian cinema. The movie however failed terribly commercially since it could only garner eighty percent of what it had costed. Directed by Om Raut and written by Manoj Muntashir, the movie was released in the theatres on July 16, 2023. 'Adipurush' was led by Baahubali fame Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan who played the characters of Raghav, Janki and Lankesh respectively.

The OTT plan 

Meanwhile, the Om Raut movie received much hatred than love because of numerous unfriendly content embedded in a un-soothing way, from the dialogues to VFX effects. Critics complained the makers for overdoing it and bringing a crooked presentation of the Hindu epic. But with the idea of bringing the most controversial movie on digital platforms, the makers want to make up the amount they invested while creating the magnanimous project.
