OTT a boon for film industry, says PTC MD Rabindra Narayan
PTC MD Rabindra Narayan on OTT trend: Prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, not many were known of the term 'OTT'. And as we know, the invention is the mother of necessity, OTT gained prominence when people were confined to four walls of their houses to contain the spread.
OTT also came to the rescue of several people from the film industry when they were out of work. On the other hand, a section of people also believes that OTT is a bane, not a boon but the Managing Director and President of PTC Network, Rabindra Narayan believes that OTT is absolutely a boon and not a bane.

PTC MD Rabindra Narayan believes OTT is a boon because it is providing opportunities to budding actors, directors, and all young talents connected with the film industry, television, and theatres.
"Even those who were struggling in their initial stages are now making good money out of OTT," he said, adding that the best part of OTT is that it provides an opportunity to those who have talent, courage, and dedication.

"You see, there is so much production across the globe and OTT has become a platform that provides an opportunity to release the content," said Rabindra Narayan.
On being asked about OTT not providing a subsequent time to a film in theatres, the Managing Director of PTC Network said, "If a movie has potential then the release on OTT should be held back."
He explained that mainstream cinema should get the opportunity to take benefit of theatres while smaller cinemas can get the benefit of OTT.

On the biggest OTT platforms, he said each and every platform had its own audience and its own significance. "It all depends upon the quality of the content," he adds.
Notably, PTC Network, under the leadership of its MD and President, Rabindra Narayan, is running its own OTT platform i.e. PTC Play App. PTC Network releases its exclusive box office films, reality shows and web series on this OTT platform. Moreover, PTC Play App telecasts Live Gurbani from Golden Temple and Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib.
