Lara Dutta pens a heartfelt note as Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu wins Miss Universe 2021
The third week of December began with amazing news for the entire nation as India’s Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu was announced the Miss Universe 2021. The 21 years old Harnaaz brought back the crown for Miss Universe, following Lara Dutta's victory in 2000.
Harnaaz’s victory in the renowned beauty pageant filled every Indian's heart with joy. The former winners of Miss Universe Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000 were till now the only Indians to win the Miss Universe title before Harnaaz Sandhu.

Numerous congratulatory posts for Harnaaz started pouring following the announcement of her being crowned as the Miss Universe 2021.
Lara Dutta who won Miss Universe in 2000 took to her Instagram and shared a heartfelt note for the winner Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu, in which she mentioned that the year Lara Dutta was titled Miss Universe Harnaaz was born and it was destined.

"My dearest Harnaaz Sandhu, when I spoke to you yesterday, you promised me that 'it will be worth it.' You are worth all your triumphant glory and much, much more! You had an unshakeable belief in yourself and just knew, you were born for this. You were born in the year I won Miss Universe. That's how long we've waited for you to come along and lift that crown once more for India."

Harnaaz Sandhu won the title of Miss Universe 2021 which was held in Port of Eilat in Israel. Nadia Ferreira of Paraguay and Lalela Mswane of South Africa were edged by Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu.
Urvashi Rautela, Adamari López, Adriana Lima, Cheslie Kryst, Iris Mittenaere, Lori Harvey, Marian Rivera, and Rena Sofer were among the members of the selection committee.
