Karan Johar decided to make a big announcement about his next film on Ranveer Singh's 36th birthday. Rather, it's a fresh direction. Yes, Karan Johar is back in the director's chair after a five-year hiatus, and with a fantastic lead duo in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.

The acclaimed filmmaker made the news on Instagram on Tuesday, as promised the day before, with a teaser video for the upcoming film 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani'.
The story has been written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy. Talking about Karan Johar last directed film it was ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan released in 2016.

Ranveer and Alia previously collaborated on the critically acclaimed film "Gully Boy." The film also served as India's entry for the Academy Awards or The Oscars 2020.

In a video shared on his Instagram account on Monday, Karan Johar said that in the last few years, his focus has been on making the Dharma brand grow, but now, he wishes to ‘go back to (his) favourite place’ - on a film set.
After sharing the first look poster, Karan Johar also unveiled the other star cast of the film with an interesting video on his social media accounts. Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra has also joined the cast of the love story alongside Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
