The actress is now going to play the role of former India Prime Minister Indira Gandhi which will be a political drama film directed by Sai Kabir.

The film will cover the important moments of political history in the time of Indira Gandhi which will include Operation Blue Star and The Emergency. From the team of Kangana clarifications have been made that the film is not going be a biopic but a grand period.

Talking about the film Kangana said, “Yes, we are working on the project and the script is in the final stages. It is not the biopic of Indira Gandhi, it is a grand period film, to be precise a political drama that will help my generation to understand (the) socio-political landscape of current India,"
