'Jersey' starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur to finally releas on April 14; confirm makers

The makers chose to postpone the theatrical release due to an increase in coronavirus cases in India.

On Tuesday, Shahid Kapoor took to Twitter to share the exciting news with his fans and followers. After a year of delays, he revealed that his upcoming sports drama would be released in theatres on April 14, 2022. He penned, “So so happy to announce that our beloved film #Jersey will be releasing worldwide in theatres on the 14th of April 2022. See you in the theatres."

The story centers around Arjun, a 36-year-old cricketer who quit the game ten years ago and now desires to return to the Indian team in order to achieve his son's goal. The film's trailer was released a few months ago, and fans are excited to see Shahid and Mrunal bring the spectacular story to life.

Gowtam Tinnanuri has written and directed the film, which is a remake of the same-named Telugu film from 2019, which starred Nani in the lead role. Along with Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur will play a significant part in the film.
