The ice-cold magic is set to return as the makers of the beloved animated franchise "Frozen" have officially announced the release date for the much-anticipated third instalment. According to reports, "Frozen 3" will enchant audiences on November 24, 2027, marking its debut during the Thanksgiving season, just as its predecessors did. Both previous films in the franchise debuted around this festive period, captivating audiences worldwide and soaring past the $1 billion mark.

Frozen 3 Coming Soon

Filmmaker Jennifer Lee showcased the initial concept art for "Frozen 3." The artwork teases a breathtaking scene with Anna and Elsa riding majestically towards a sunlit horizon, with Olaf joyfully perched on Anna’s horse. This glimpse into the upcoming film hints at another enchanting journey for the beloved royal sisters.

About Frozen

The original "Frozen," released in 2013, captivated audiences with its musical fantasy and was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's 1844 fairy tale "The Snow Queen." Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and produced by Peter Del Vecho, the film was a massive hit, earning around $1.3 billion globally and securing two Academy Awards.

The sequel, which premiered in 2019, continued the story of sisters Anna and Elsa—voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel respectively—and proved even more commercially successful. Hits like "Let It Go" and "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" became cultural phenomena, solidifying the franchise’s place in cinematic history.

Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed in 2023 that the studio is already working on a fourth installment of the franchise. Veteran songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will return to compose new tracks for both "Frozen 3" and the potential fourth film. "Frozen 3" is actively in production, with Director Jenn Lee and her team at Disney Animation diligently crafting not one but two new stories.
