'Breaking Bad' icon wheelchair cartel don Mark Margolis passes away at age 83

Mark Margolis, 83 years old died on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City followed by a short illness as per the statement made by his son, Morgan Margolis.

'Breaking Bad' icon wheelchair cartel don Mark Margolis passes away at age 83

One of the most remarkable faces form the world famous series Breaking Bad and Better Call Soul's icon, Mark Margolis has died on Thursday. The man who portrayed the infamous wheelchair cartel don, Hector Tio Salamanca, the murderous elderly sinister who could not speak but act upon ringing a bell following a stroke. But the man barely needed a dialogue to shine. The sudden demise of the actor surely shooked away the fans and his co-actors and other colleagues who has worked with him earlier. 

To his departing soul

Mark Margolis, 83 years old died on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City followed by a short illness as per the statement made by his son, Morgan Margolis. On his departing soul, many of his friends and fans came front to bid him a worthy goodbye. The official page of the 'Breaking Bad' series has shared a post of the icon and wrote, "We join millions of fans in mourning the passing of the immensely talented Mark Margolis, who with his eyes, a bell, and very few words - turned Hector Salamanca into one of the most unforgettable characters in the history of television. He will be missed," to which thousands of fans joined the mourning post and shared their devastated feelings. 

Other co-actors

Although the actor had not much to say within the crime-drama series, his acting was impactful. Bryan Cranston, the Breaking Bad star shared his tribute and quoted, "I am very saddened today to learn of a friend's passing. Mark Margolis was a really good actor and a lovely human being. Fun and engaging off the set, and intimidating and frightening on set." His tribute joined by Mark's another co-actor Bob Odenkirk from 'Better Call Soul' (a part of Breaking Bad franchise) and confessed Mark to have a "powerful screen presence."

Mark's acting career

Margolis was born in 1939 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He always wanted to do acting hence went to New York to pursue acting. Later he became renown among the masses with his forged characters as supporting roles in the films such as Scarface(1983), Ace Ventra: Pet Detective(1994), Darren Aronofsky(1998), Requim of Dream(2000), The Fountain(2006), The Wrestler(2008), Black Swan(2010), Noah(2014) and many others. Apart from movies, the actor has also given his impeccable contribution in television series like The Equalizer, Quantum Leap, Oz, Law & Order, Crossing Jordan, Californication, Breaking Bad and Better Call Soul. The actor was also nominated for Emmys 2012 for the series 'Breaking Bad'.
