Happy Birthday Master Saleem: Here Are Some Lesser Known Facts About The Singer

Master Saleem is one of the most versatile singers in the music industry. The singer who sometimes is referred as ‘Saleem Shahzada’ is celebrating his 38^th birthday today, July 13. Besides in Punjabi music industry, Master Saleem is a well known personality in Bollywood as well. The singer has crooned for Bollywood films like ‘Heyy Babyy’, ‘Tashan’, ‘Dedh Ishqiya’ among others. The singer has also given his vocals to many devotional songs.

On his special day, here we are listing some of the lesser known facts about the singer:

He was born in  Shahkot area of Punjab, near Jalandhar city to the famous Sufi singer Ustad Puran Shah Koti.

At the age of six, Saleem became his father’s student and started learning singing.

Saleem gave his first public performance at the age of seven with his song ‘Charkhe Di Ghook’ and earned the name ‘Master Saleem’.

The singer’s first album was released at the age of 10.

Saleem made his debut as a playback singer with single ‘Mast Kalandar’ for the film ‘Heyy Babyy’. The song became an instant hit and launched his Bollywood career.
