Veteran singer Asha Bhosle is celebrating her 85^th birthday today. After almost six decades of singing in 20 Indian languages and foreign language too, the beautiful melody queen is one of the greatest singers Indian Music Industry has ever seen.

Her songs have been everyone's favourite for generations now and continue to be popular even today.

Bhosle's work includes film music, pop, ghazals, bhajans, traditional Indian classical music, folk songs and qawwalis among others.

In 2011, she was officially acknowledged by the Guinness Book of World Records as the most recorded artist in music history.

Moreover, Asha Di has won the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer twice. In 1981 she grabbed the trophy for the song Dil Cheez Kya Hai from the film Umrao Jaan and later in 1986 she won the award for Mera Kuch Samaan from the film Ijaazat.
