Diwali 2022: From date, shubh muhurat, to Lakshmi Puja time and vidhi; here's all you need to know
Diwali 2022 Date, Shubh Muhurat, Lakshmi Puja time, and Diwali Vidhi: We have been celebrating a series of festivals one after the other as the festive season has arrived. After Navratri, Dussehra, and Karwa Chauth, it is now time to welcome Diwali, the festival of lights (or Deepavali).
Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is India's most important festival which is a five-day festival that culminates with Bhai Dooj, a festival comparable to Raksha Bandhan.

Step 1: Cleaning the house
Cleaning for Diwali is crucial where each and every corner is then sprinkled with Gangajal (holy water from the river Ganga) to purify the area after cleansing.
Step 2: Setting the Pooja Room
Cover the table with a red cotton cloth in the Pooja room with a handful of grains in the center.
Step 3: Setting up the Kalash in the center
In the center of the grains, place the Kalash (silver/bronze pot), with 75% of the water with one supari (betel nut), one marigold flower, a coin, and some rice grains on the top. To cover the Kalash, arrange 5 mango leaves in a circular pattern on the Kalash.
Step 4: For the pooja place the idols of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha
Facing southwest direction, place the idol of Goddess Lakshmi in the center of the Kalash and the statue of Lord Ganesha on the right side.

Step 5: All the accounts books of the business has to be kept
In front of the idol, place your accounting or business book, as well as any other wealth or business-related items.
Step 6: Light the Diya and Apply Tilak
Light diyas and apply tilak to Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesh. Also, apply tilak to Kalash and the account books.
Step 7: Offer flowers
Offer prayers to Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi while keeping a flower in your palm.
Step 8: Puja Mantra
After you've completed praying, deliver the flower you've been holding in your palm to Ganesha and Lakshmi.
Worship Lord Kuber alongside Lord Ganesha, Maa Lakshmi, and Maa Saraswati on Diwali.
11 times or one rosary, chant Om Shri Shri Namah.
Step 9: Cleaning Lakshmi Idol
Using water and panchamrita, bathe a Lakshmi idol. Rinse it with water and dry it with a clean cloth before replacing it on the Kalash.
Step 10: Dressing the idols
Dress the idol with haldi, kumkum, and rice. Garnish the Goddess's neck with the garland.
Step 11: Offer sweets to the deity
Offer coconut, supari, and paan leaf to the deity. Fruit and sweets should be offered to the deity.
Step 12: Performing Aarti
Perform the Lakshmi aarti with a diya in a thali and a puja bell.
