'Dear Jassi': Tarsem Singh all set to shoot his first film in India; details inside
'Dear Jassi': The renowned and highly regarded director Tarsem Singh is getting ready to begin production on his debut movie, "Dear Jassi," in India. Tarsem will shoot this, his first major motion picture, in India. Brendan Galvin, a renowned Hollywood cinematographer, shot the film, which is based on a true story.
Producing the movie are Bhushan Kumar, Tarsem Singh, Creative Strokes Group (Sanjay Grover), Wakaoo Films (Vipul D Shah, Ashwin Varde, Rajesh Bahl, and) Bhushan Kumar. Amit Rai, who also served as the film's director, wrote the script.
Tarsem has always had a soft spot for the topic of "Dear Jassi." In his words, "I'm pursuing my passion with it. And I think now is the ideal time for the world to see it. It is necessary to tell a tale with such power."
With post-production taking place in Montreal, Canada, the film's cast is an eclectic mix of well-known Indian and international actors.

His most well-known Hollywood productions are The Cell (starring Jennifer Lopez), The Fall (starring Lee Pace), Immortals (starring Henry Cavill and Frieda Pinto), Mirror Mirror (starring Julia Roberts), and Self/Less (Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley).
Aside from his work on feature films, Tarsem is also known around the world for his award-winning commercials and music videos, which have starred some of the biggest names in pop culture, including Brad Pitt, Lady Gaga, Deep Forest, R.E.M., and Enrique Iglesias.
The world will be startled, said Wakaoo Films' Ashwin Varde, "It's an exceptional subject helmed by an extraordinary director." According to Rajesh Bahl of Wakaoo Films, "Tarsem is an unique example. His commitment to the craft is unmatched, and his vision is amazing."
"Producing my first picture with a director like Tarsem, whom I admire, and to join with innovative producers like T-Series and Wakaoo Films is honestly very exciting," stated Sanjay Grover (previously Executive & Producer, MGM Studios, LA), of Creative Strokes Group. "Having done films at MGM Studios."
The last two weeks of "Dear Jassi" will soon be filmed in Canada after 50 days of filming took place around Punjab.
