Chandigarh creates new Guinness World Record by forming world's largest human formation of national flag
Largest Human Formation of Indian National Flag: India is all set to celebrate its 75th Independence Day on August 15, 2022. In the meanwhile, Chandigarh has set a Guinness World Record for the biggest human chain waving of the Indian National Flag.
Notably, the record was made in association with 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' in an order to commemorate India's 75th Independence Day.
A representative from Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed the achievement of the record. It involved 5,885 people. While lining up as the Human Flag in front of the Guinness Book of World Records crew, the students also formed an airborne formation resembling the Tricolor.

The Guinness World Records adjudicator, Swapnil Dangarikar, who was in attendance at the occasion, confirmed the record and stated,"the previous world record for the largest human image of a waving a national flag-- earlier achieved by GEMS Education in Abu Dhabi, UAE-- has been broken and a new world record has been created by NID Foundation and Chandigarh University in today's event."
The Government of India has launched 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate and celebrate 75 years of independence as well as the historic legacy of India's people, culture, and triumphs.
A campaign called "Har Ghar Tiranga" is being undertaken to get people to bring the Tiranga home and hoist it to commemorate India's 75th anniversary of independence.
