Shoaib Malik misses Sania Mirza amid their divorce rumours
Former Pakistani captain Shoaib Malik denied divorce rumours with Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, blaming their "hectic schedule" for not seeing each other recently.
When Malik and Sania had not been spotted together for the previous six months, rumours and theories about the power couple divorcing after getting married in 2010 were rampant.
Malik claimed he and his wife were not going through a divorce or being separated when he appeared on a local television network for a special Eid broadcast.
According to a recent statement by Shoaib Malik, he and Sania Mirza could have spent Eid together but chose not to because of their respective work responsibilities. Malik said that he is powerless to respond to reports that "everything is not well" between the two despite the fact that they are frequently written about.
"On this Eid, let me just say that it would have been wonderful if we had been together. But, she is committed to the IPL. She performs in IPL shows. We aren't together because of this. We continue to share affection. I can honestly tell that I miss her a lot. "There are (professional) commitments," they continue. Nonetheless, Eid is a day when you miss your loved ones dearly. This is why neither she nor I issued a statement, continued Shoaib Malik.
In 2010, Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik got married in Hyderabad, and a Walima ceremony was then held in Pakistan. Izhaan Mirza Malik, their four-year-old son, lives with them.
