National Film Awards 2023; Pankaj Tripathi gets emotional on his big win, dedicates the national award to his lost father
One of the most awaited night of the filmy world has finally come to an end with the grandeur of the National Film Awards 2023 that took place on Thursday, 24 August 2023. The coveted filmy celebration saw some of the most extraordinary winners from varying genres and corners of the Indian cinematic landmass. Films like Gangubai Kathiwadi, RRR, Sardar Udham, Pushpa and Mimi has rose some major prizes of the night.
Best Actor Supporting Role - Male
Among the many major winners, Pankaj Tripathi grabbed attention with his big win of the night too. The versatile actor, Pankaj Tripathi grasped the title of the Best Actor Supporting Role Male for his immaculate character in Mimi starring alongside Kriti Sanon. While the actor was happy and honored winning the astonishing National Award, Mr. Tripathi also got emotional and heavily grieved with his father's lost, who passed away on this Monday. The star remembered his lost spirit on the stage and dedicated the enriching award to his heavenly father. "This is unfortunately a period of loss and grieving for me" he gasped in agony. He also stated the feeling of pride and joy his father would have felt if he was alive.
Grief and Joy
Pankaj Tripathi is seemingly a star, who has given the Indian audience with numerous impeccable characters, very rarely seen getting emotional and unapologetic. "I dedicate this National Award to him and his spirit. I’m what I’m today because of him," he continued and shared his feeling unabashedly. Even at the moment of such victory, Pankaj Tripathi was heard with a void of pain and suffering. Meanwhile, he thanked the entire team responsible for making Mimi and also congratulated Kriti Sanon for winning the Best Actor (female) and told he would personally speak to the actress to wish her for the iconic victory.
Other Big Winners
Apart from Kriti Sanon and Pankaj Tripathi, there were many filmy accolades robbed by the Bollywood films and fames. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' bagged five awards, giving Alia a breakthrough the Best Actor(Female) along with Kriti Sanon for 'Mimi'. Meanwhile Allu Arjun bagged Best Actor(Male) for the movie 'Pushpa'. The Oscar winner movie 'RRR' won award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Other major winners of the night included Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' which bagged Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration. 'Shershaah' movie on the other hand made it through the Special Jury Award including Biopic drama, 'Sardar Udham' as the Best Hindi Film. Another big win for the film Mimi has to be it's Best Actor for supporting role won by iconic Pankaj Tripathi. 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect', starring R Madhavan won the award for The Best Feature Film.
