Mukesh Khanna Birthday Special: The Unmarried Legacy of Bhishma Pitamah

Mukesh Khanna is celebrating his birthday today, the Popular actor known for his iconic roles in "Shaktimaan" and "Mahabharat," has captivated audiences with his performances. While portraying the character of Bhishma Pitamah in the epic television series "Mahabharat," Khanna's dedication to the role left a lasting impact. Interestingly, he himself has chosen not to marry, prompting speculation about the influence of his portrayal on his personal life. In this article, we delve into Mukesh Khanna's decision to remain unmarried and shed light on his recent projects.

The Vow of Celibacy:

During the 1988-1999 run of "Mahabharat," Mukesh Khanna portrayed the revered character of Bhishma Pitamah. In the epic, Bhishma takes a lifelong vow of celibacy, which added depth and complexity to his character. It is intriguing to note that Khanna has not entered into matrimony in real life, leading some to believe that his portrayal in the show influenced his personal choices.

Addressing the Speculations:

Now 65 years old, Mukesh Khanna has addressed the questions surrounding his single status in various interviews. In a candid interview with On The Talks, he clarified his stance on marriage, saying, "Marriage is a matter of destiny. I believe in speaking openly, which often leads to controversies. I have been striving to put an end to this long-standing controversy."

Khanna further explained, "I am not opposed to marriage. I want to clarify that I am not that extraordinary, and no one can become a Bhishma Pitamah. I haven't made any vows like Bhishma Pitamah. I am not against marriage. Marriage is predetermined by destiny, while affairs are not."

Career and Recent Projects:

Mukesh Khanna's contributions to the Bollywood industry have been significant, with several successful films to his credit. However, his recent ventures, "Jayeshbhai Jordaar" and "Circus," did not attain remarkable box office success. Amidst these outcomes, an exciting announcement was made last year about a film based on the iconic Indian superhero, "Shaktimaan." Reports have hinted at the possibility of Ranveer Singh joining the project, although no official confirmation has been made.

Speaking about the delay of the "Shaktimaan" film on his YouTube channel, Khanna revealed, "The contract has been finalized for a highly prestigious film with a budget estimated to be between 200 to 300 crore rupees. It will be produced by Sony Pictures, the same company behind Spider-Man. Initially, the film faced delays due to the pandemic, but I have assured my channel subscribers that the project is in progress."
