Koffee With Karan Season 8; Deepika Padukone reveals how Ranveer Singh has created a safe space during her battle with depression
As the country's one of the beloved talk show 'Koffee with Karan' has made it's comeback with it's 8th season, the nationwide audience went gaga. Even before the first episode went into air, the teaser made quite a buzz as it has revealed the Bollywood royalty couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh as KJo's firsts guest attendees. Embracing the graces of the heated couch, both the celebrities has made their first appearance on the talk show together for the first time. As the premiere episode made it to the OTT screens at 12 AM on 26 October, 2023, fan's couldn't stop but talk and react about the starry couple's most awestrucking conversation with the glitzy host.
Ranveer Singh created a 'Safe Space'!
During the long episode of the talk show, both the stars delved in numerous topics from professional to personal front and KJo indeed did a striking justice with the couple. Meanwhile, among varying fields of talk, both the actors have paved light upon Deepika's battle with depression. As we all know, the acing actress Deepika Padukone battled a long war with clinical depression in the past years and as per the actress Ranveer Singh has created a safer space for her to open up about the issues with ease and comfort.
Ranveer Singh recalls the 2014 moments of Deepika while battling with clinical depression
Referring to the same, Ranveer Singh has threw light on one of such situation from 2014 and quoted, "When it first happened in 2014, I was shooting. She called and she said 'I've had a blackout and I've had a fall. Can you come home?' I cut the call and I was on my bike straight to her house. When I saw her, something wasn't right. She's in front, she's looking at you but she's not all there." Mr. Singh also recalled a moment with Deepika while they were both having their breakfast. "One day at breakfast she was sitting across me and she was just crying and there were just tears. Copious tears flowing down. I got up and went to her and I was like 'kya hua baby? Main kya kar sakta hoon aapke liye?' The reason I remember that vividly is because it was that moment where I felt completely helpless," he gasped.

Continuing it further, Deepika Padukone jumped into the conversation to heap praises for her loving partner who according to her had been the greatest helping hand throughout the battle. She said, "What he did at that point was that he created a safe space for me to open up. Not once did he say that, 'it's okay, forget it', or 'just let's go on a drive' or anything of that sort. At that point, he didn't understand it much, today he understands it a lot better. But he was just all there. He has been so patient. It told me a lot about the person that he is."
Even host Karan Johar added his struggle story of voidness during the whopping episode, which literally made the first episode more like a warm hug than just a talk show. The mushy moments of the couple with the appropriate reach of conversation with the host surely stood taller than expected from the most anticipated episode in the 'Koffee with Karan' history.
