Karan Johar openly talks about his long struggle with Heartbreak; Compares 'Ae Dil Hain Mushkil' to his own love story
Karan Johar is utterly known for his refined contribution in Bollywood. From romantic dramas to emo climaxes, his movies are surely one of it's kind within the industry. The man, who has given numerous masterpieces to the global cinema goers, did not not have the opportunity to have a 'forever love' to call his own. Amid global stardom and filmy glam, karan lacks love in life. He even faces numerous backlogs on social media platforms, where haters floods his boxes with trolls and negativity of all kinds.

Karan with a tragic love life
Previously, during an interview with a renown media, the iconic filmmaker talked openly about his long struggle of heartbreak and calls the 2016 romantic drama 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' as a product of his inner struggles. It was the movie that has helped him while navigating his long lasting emotion that was hampering him mentally as well as physically from 7 to 8 years. Thus the movie helped him getting over his heartbreak. "It was initially awkward because his character dies. The character obviously went through a fictional arc as well, but it was cathartic for me to tell that story because I felt that really helped me get over that love situation.”
Karan on 'Ek-tarfa-pyaar'
Bollywood's darling, KJo also threw light on one-sided love and said, "Anyone who has been through one-sided love, ektarfa pyaar, that heartbreak… I saw the worst version of myself, not as a human being, but I was pitiful in that zone. When you stare at your phone waiting for it to ring, when you want that message and that message changes your day, when your heart really hurts – it’s physical pain, it’s not just symbolic, it’s painful – and you wake up with that anxiety, and when you see that person with somebody else and it breaks you into a million pieces… You realize that love can make you and break you and tear you apart."
Gen-Z X 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil'
Karan this time has surely spoke of his love life with zero hindrance. He called his phase as a 'bad phase' and thus never wants to see himself in that zone again. That star also talked about the gen-z generation and their love life. Continuing his statement, he said, "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had a polarizing last act, but that concept of crazy love really resonated especially with Gen Z kids. I’m far from Gen Z, I found this crazy love in my late 30s and early 40s, and it just went on for years. But it gave me a film, it gave me closure, and it has now given me a lot of perspective of never to go back in that zone again"
Like a part of his family
As per Karan, the person who he devoted his love was not from the film industry and hence unknown to everyone. But apparently he is in Karan's ecosystem and now like a great part of the Johar family. "The person was completely sensitive to me, and went through every beat with me with utmost sensitivity. So, I can’t even hate, I can’t be indifferent. And today, that person is very much a part of my family, he’s a part of my ecosystem… Fortunately, this person is not from the industry, and that actually helped, because it gets very messy when it’s from the industry." KJo added.
