In a candid response to the criticism surrounding the underperformance of his recent films, Akshay Kumar has addressed the speculation that his career might be in decline. Kumar’s latest films, including “Sarfira,” “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan,” “Mission Raniganj,” “Selfiee,” “Raksha Bandhan,” “Samrat Prithviraj,” and “Bachchhan Pandey,” have faced disappointing receptions at the box office. Despite the setbacks, Kumar expressed a resolute attitude towards his career and the ongoing industry chatter.

At the trailer launch of his upcoming film, “Khel Khel Mein,” Akshay Kumar remarked, “Whatever happens, happens for the good. I don’t think too much about the box office failure of my films. Four-five films of mine have not worked, and I get so many messages saying, ‘sorry yaar, fikar mat kar’ (Don’t worry my friend). I’m not dead!”

The 56-year-old actor conveyed his frustration with the way some media reports have portrayed him. He recounted a peculiar instance where a journalist wrote, “You’ll be back,” prompting Kumar to call the journalist and question the implication. “Why are you writing this? What does ‘back’ mean? Where have I gone?” he said.

Kumar remains dedicated to his craft, emphasizing his work ethic and resilience. “I’m here and I’ll keep working. I’ll always keep working irrespective of whatever people say. In the morning, I wake up, exercise, and leave for work and return home. Whatever I earn, I earn on my own. I’ll never snatch anything from anyone. I’ll keep on working till they shoot me down,” he stated.

His upcoming film, “Khel Khel Mein,” directed by Mudassar Aziz of “Happy Bhag Jayegi” and “Pati Patni Aur Woh” fame, features a star-studded ensemble cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. The comedy-drama is set to hit theaters on August 15, clashing with John Abraham's “Vedaa” and the highly anticipated sequel “Stree 2,” starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor.
