Tishaa Kumar's Funeral: Celebrities Attend Krishan Kumar's Daughter's Last Rites
Tishaa Kumar, the daughter of T-Series head Bhushan Kumar and actor-producer Krishan Kumar, was laid to rest in Mumbai on Monday. The 21-year-old passed away after a prolonged illness. Her funeral was attended by numerous prominent figures from the Indian film industry, who gathered to pay their respects and support the grieving family.
Among the notable attendees were Bhushan Kumar, Farah Khan, Sajid Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, and Jaaved Jaaferi. Other prominent figures such as Divya Khosla Kumar and Kushali Kumar also paid their respects. The presence of these individuals highlighted the deep impact Tishaa's passing had on the industry and her loved ones.
T-Series had earlier released a statement regarding Tishaa's death, saying, "Tishaa Kumar, daughter of Krishan Kumar, passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with an illness. This is a difficult time for the family, and we kindly request that the family’s privacy is respected."
The funeral, originally scheduled for Sunday, was delayed due to the aircraft carrying Tishaa's body being diverted to Ahmedabad because of adverse weather conditions.
Tishaa’s death marks a profound loss for the Kumar family. Her last public appearance was on November 30, 2023, at the premiere of Ranbir Kapoor’s film, Animal, where she was seen on the red carpet alongside her father, Krishan Kumar.
Krishan Kumar, known for his role in the 1995 film Bewafa Sanam, is a prominent figure in the Indian film industry. Alongside his nephew Bhushan Kumar, he co-owns T-Series, a leading music and film production company. Krishan's film career began with Lucky: No Time for Love and has since produced several successful films including Ready, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Thappad, and Animal. Following the death of T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar in 1997, Krishan took over the management of the company until Bhushan Kumar was old enough to assume the role.
The loss of Tishaa Kumar is a significant blow to the Kumar family, leaving a void that will be felt deeply by all who knew her.
