'The Kerala Story' OTT release: 'The Kerala Story' has been making headlines for various reasons, captivating audiences with its gripping narrative. Despite its success at the box office, recent reports suggest that the film has been unable to secure a deal with any Over-The-Top (OTT) platform. 

Controversies Surrounding 'The Kerala Story'

'The Kerala Story' showcases the story of a Hindu woman from Kerala, portrayed by Adah Sharma, who is manipulated into embracing Islam and forcibly sent to Syria, where she becomes entangled with the ISIS terrorist organization and undergoes torment. Due to its provocative subject matter, the film faced significant backlash, resulting in an initial ban in West Bengal. Moreover, numerous theaters in Tamil Nadu refused to screen it, further amplifying the controversy surrounding the film.

Struggles to Find an OTT Buyer

Despite its success at the box office, the film's producers are currently grappling with the challenge of securing a suitable deal with an OTT platform. As of now, no favorable response has been received from potential buyers. Sudipto Sen, the director, expressed his frustration, stating, "We still haven't got a suitable offer from any OTT platform for The Kerala Story. We are still waiting for a good workable deal from any of the main OTT platforms. But so far, we have not got any offer worth considering. It seems the film industry has ganged up to punish us."

'The Kerala Story' Receives Backlash

The unexpected difficulty in finding an OTT platform for distribution has left the filmmakers perplexed. Sudipto Sen believes that the film's success at the box office may have drawn the ire of certain factions within the industry, resulting in a concerted effort to hinder its progress. "Our box office success has irked many sections of the film industry. We have a feeling that a section of the entertainment industry has united to punish us for our success," stated Sen, alluding to a potential industry conspiracy.

Adah Sharma, who played a crucial role in "The Kerala Story," expressed her optimism regarding the film's future. Despite the challenges faced by the production team, she remains hopeful that an OTT platform will recognize the film's merit and provide it with the platform it deserves.
