Shah Rukh Khan and Family Pay Respects to Farah Khan and Sajid Khan's Late Mother, Menaka Irani
In a heartfelt event marking the passing of Menaka Irani, mother of filmmakers Farah Khan and Sajid Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, his wife Gauri Khan, and their daughter Suhana Khan reached the Khan residence to pay their respects. The visit, which took place hours after the news of Menaka Irani's death on July 26, saw the Khan family offer their condolences and support to the bereaved family. Pooja Dadlani, Shah Rukh Khan’s manager, also accompanied them.
As they met with the grieving family, Shah Rukh, Gauri, and Suhana were seen comforting Farah Khan. In visuals captured by the media, Farah was seen hugging Shah Rukh and Suhana, highlighting the emotional bond between them. The scene was one of genuine sorrow and mutual support, reflecting the depth of their friendship.
Menaka Irani, aged 79, passed away following a period of illness and multiple surgeries. Just a few days before her passing, Farah Khan shared an emotional post on Instagram, expressing her deep love and admiration for her mother. Farah described her mother as the "strongest, bravest person" she had ever seen, with her sense of humour intact despite the medical challenges she faced.
"This last month has been a revelation on how much I love my mom Menka... she's been the strongest, bravest person I've ever seen... sense of humour intact even after multiple surgeries. Happy birthday, mom! Today’s a good day to come back home. Can’t wait for you to get strong enough to start fighting with me again. I love you."
The Khan family was not alone in their visit. Earlier on Friday, a host of Bollywood celebrities visited Farah's house to pay their respects. Notable names included Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty, Bhushan Kumar, and MC Stan, among others. Their presence underscored the close-knit nature of the Bollywood community, especially in times of personal loss and mourning.
The passing of Menaka Irani has brought together numerous personalities from the film industry, all united in their grief and support for Farah and Sajid Khan.
