Sanjay Dutt Dropped from Son of Sardar 2 After UK Visa Woes: What Happened?
In a recent turn of events, actor Sanjay Dutt has been officially replaced by Ravi Kishan in the forthcoming film Son of Sardar 2, as reported by industry sources. This development arises from Dutt’s failure to obtain a visa for the United Kingdom, a critical location for the film’s production.

The announcement of Son of Sardar 2 had earlier generated substantial buzz among fans and critics alike, particularly given the anticipated onscreen clash between Dutt and co-star Ajay Devgn. The excitement surrounding the film was palpable, with many looking forward to witnessing a dynamic confrontation between the two stalwart actors. However, the prospect of this cinematic showdown has been dimmed by the recent news of Dutt’s departure from the project.

The core issue behind Dutt’s exit stems from complications related to his visa application. The actor’s request for a UK visa was declined due to his involvement in legal controversies from over three decades ago. In 1993, Dutt was entangled in a high-profile case under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) and the Arms Act. He was arrested for the illegal possession of firearms and was subsequently linked to the notorious Bombay bombings of the same year. Although Dutt served his sentence and was released in 2016, the repercussions of these past incidents continue to hinder his professional opportunities.
According to a recent statement from a news portal, “Since his arrest in 1993, Sanjay Dutt has made numerous attempts to secure a UK visa, all of which have been unsuccessful. The planned shoot for Son of Sardar 2 would have been his inaugural visit to the UK. However, upon learning of the visa rejection, Ajay Devgn’s team opted to replace him with Ravi Kishan.”

Ravi Kishan, whose performance in the acclaimed film Laapata Ladies garnered significant praise, has now stepped into Dutt’s role. This casting change has sparked concern among fans regarding Dutt’s future involvement in other projects slated for filming in the UK. Notably, there are apprehensions about his participation in the upcoming Housefull 5, which is also expected to have portions shot in the UK. Reports suggest, however, that Dutt’s segments for Housefull 5 will be filmed in Mumbai, with the remaining cast undertaking their work in the UK.
