Ranbir Kapoor To Soon Begin Filming for Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayan'
Ranbir Kapoor, the celebrated Bollywood actor, is riding high on the success of his recent film 'Animal,' directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which became a blockbuster hit. However, Kapoor is not resting on his laurels as he prepares for his next big project, 'Ramayana,' directed by Nitesh Tiwari.
Recent reports indicate that the production of 'Ramayana' is set to commence soon, with shooting locations confirmed in Mumbai and London. Kapoor is slated to begin filming in Mumbai, where he will spend around 60 days capturing crucial scenes. Following this, the production will shift to London, where the epic tale's Lanka portions will be filmed, also spanning approximately 60 days. Joining Kapoor in this endeavor is actor Yash.
Interestingly, Kapoor's commitment to his role as Lord Ram extends beyond the screen. Reports suggest that he has willingly given up alcohol, non-vegetarian food, and late-night parties to immerse himself fully in the character's spirit and essence.
In a significant casting revelation, veteran actor Sunny Deol is set to portray the iconic character of Lord Hanuman in "Ramayana." According to sources close to the project, Deol is enthusiastic about embodying the strength and conviction associated with the revered deity. His portrayal of Hanuman is anticipated to leave a lasting impression, much like the legendary Dara Singh's interpretation.
TDeol's involvement in "Ramayana" will not be confined to a single installment. While he will make a guest appearance in the first part of the trilogy, his presence will be integral to the subsequent chapters. The filmmakers express confidence that Deol's portrayal will cement his legacy as a modern-day representation of Lord Hanuman.
The casting for "Ramayana" boasts an ensemble of talented actors, including Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and the potential addition of Vijay Sethupathi as Vibhishana.
