'Chamkila' marks the first on-screen collaboration between Diljit Dosanjh and director Imtiaz Ali. Parineeti Chopra plays a lead role in the film, which will be released directly on the OTT platform Netflix in 2024.

The movie delves into the untold true story of Amar Singh Chamkila, Punjab's original rockstar, who rose from poverty to immense popularity in the 80s through his powerful music. The film portrays Chamkila's life, filled with societal challenges, and his tragic assassination at the age of 27.
