OMG 2: Akshay Kumar's Film Likely to Storm the Box Office with Double-Digit Opening Says Makers

After waiting for more than a decade, the 'Oh My God' franchise has finally brought it's second part with ultra zest and enthusiasm waving among it's fanbase. The sequel of the satirical comedy drama got it's theatrical release on Friday, August 11, 2023. Ever since the very second of it's premiere on the silver screens, the Akshay Kumar led movie is so far acquiring a good flavor of critics from the movie goers. A good start indeed!

The anticipation

Meanwhile, with it's opening, the makers are well concerned about it's box office collection on the first day, and when I say well concerned I surely meant in a positive way. OMG 2 features it's previous lead actor, Akshay Kumar along with new faces such as Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. The bygone ages has surely kept the OMG fans far away for many years turning it's sequel one of the most anticipated movie of the Indian cinema of 2023. With it's pre-buzzing anticipation and positive reviews already, reports suggests a pretty decent theatrical opening on it's first day impacting a good box office collection. 

Producer's assurance: Box Office prediction

This is not it, the unique storyline, stellar casts and a moving message what OMG 2 has conspired is surely expected to come in a good handy among it's new age masses as well as forging adults. Producer, Girish Johar revealed his expert prediction with a renown media where he disclosed what it's box office collection might look like on it's first day and gradually. He revealed while stating, "I believe the makers are very smartly assuring that they are hanging in there, at the box office. They have comfortably parked the film at the ticket windows and in the audience's mindset, ensuring that the film is there. They probably know what their film is all about, and they know their target audiences, so they are just focusing on that and know that they have an 'A' certified film at hand, so they won't be attracting family audiences, at least to start with." The statement surely assured it's crispiness and a sturdy target strategy! "They are also expecting a positive word of mouth ahead, so having all these parameters, I am confident that the film will have a long run at the box office because if the reviews are good, and word of mouth takes place, it will have a strong chance in the long run. The Gadar mania will have a huge impact to start with, but eventually, it will settle down and that is where OMG 2 will start changing gear," he further added. 

While talking about the numbers, the producer did not say a magnificent earning but sticked to a pretty decent number rather. He is expecting the movie might rake in anything between Rs. 8 to 10 crores on it's opening day. 

Not much stereotypes this time!

Directed by Amit rai, the movie also stars Pavan Malhotra along-side Akshay Kumar, Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi on the leading roles. Previously the movie came under numerous clashes and received an U/A adult certificate along-with many cut and changes for the embedded content like sex education, Indian taboos and the breakable society. But as said by it's producer, the movie is clearly intact on it's choice of audience and hence, everyone is surely looking forward for the 'moving' movie to bring some changes into the cliché Indian mindsets.
