Heeramandi Celebrity Review: Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Vijay Varma and other B-Town celebs laud the Bhansali series
Upon its release, on 1st May 2024, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has oozed and whacked the Indian period drama fanatics, especially the ones who long for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's breathtaking grandeur finesse. The whopping drama series has roped off some of the most ethereal characters portrayed by Indian cinema, and been able to impress audiences like absolutely none, the actresses. The huge ensemble of female star casts included the most starry front of Indian cinema and each portrayal has a story impactful enough to steal both sight and heart.
Created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Heeramandi has outshined every aspect of cinematic creation, from grand sets to rich storyline. Just a few days before the web show's release, there was a special screening organised in the Bollywood city of Mumbai where a long list of Indian actors arrived and seemingly fell in love with the sheer magic spilled by the renowned director. Now two days after it's release, a video surfaces through the internet realm featuring numerous actors like Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and Vijay Varma basking in praises from the post-screening night.
With the release of Bhansali's most awaited web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, a video from the premiere night floods the social wherein numerous celebrities were seen appreciating while reviewing and sharing their thoughts and opinions on the one-of-a-kind creation in Indian television. The director's previous muse, Alia Bhatt, who has earlier played Gangubai in 2022 has said, "Portrayed on Netflix, and where the whole world will see his artistry. You get hours and hours of sir, so I am so excited for that." Actor Vicky Kaushal took over the queue and remarked while saying, "The world-building that Sanjay Sir is capable of doing is just unmatchable." The list was further followed by Gangubai's other notable actor Shantanu Maheshwari(Afsaan). "Sanjay Sir, hats off, jo harkatein karte hain, karwate hain artists se, it's amazing. You just know yeh sir hi karwa sakte hain," he quoted." Vijay Varma on the other hand called the Bhansali series a "magnificent drama." The list of stars reviewing the series is ongoing as many of them called it, sparky, grand, exquisite and what not?
Led by all women, the Netflix television series is set in pre-independent India and revolves around the life of the courtesans when they were treated as equals as queens. Starring Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Shanjeeda Sheikh, and Sharmin Sehgal, it is an intense historical drama that takes the audiences around the themes of 'love, power and freedom'.
