'Gadar 2: The Katha Continues': On Monday, the producers of 'Gadar 2: The Katha Continues', starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel, released the first trailer. Gadar 2 is a follow-up to Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which debuted in theatres 22 years ago and became an instant smash. It focused on the romance between Indian woman Tara Singh (played by Sunny Deol) and Pakistani woman Sakina (played by Ameesha Patel), set against the backdrop of the India-Pakistan Partition.
In the trailer, a woman speaks the words "He is the son-in-law of Pakistan" in Hindi, urging everyone to welcome him in a grand manner and regard him with reverence. It hints at the possibility of Sunny's character, Tara, making a significant impact, potentially even taking over Lahore this time. The teaser also showcases intense action sequences featuring Sunny. The trailer concludes with a poignant moment as Sunny is seen sitting alone, shedding tears after the song "O ghar aaja pardesi" concludes.
The producers have retained the iconic song "Ghar aa ja pardesi" from the original Gadar's soundtrack. However, Ameesha Patel's character was not included in the teaser, as the producers made a conscious decision to focus solely on Sunny Deol's character.
According to Sunny Deol, Gadar 2 continues the legacy of its legendary predecessor. He considers it a blessing to revive one of India's beloved family films. The movie's core theme will always revolve around a moving and epic tale of love, bravery, and patriotism. Sunny expresses his desire for Tara and Sakina to be embraced once again by audiences.
