The buzz in Bollywood has reached a fever pitch as two of the most highly anticipated films of the year, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again, are set to clash at the box office this Diwali. Speculation had been rife that the release dates of these two massive films might be adjusted to avoid a head-to-head confrontation, but it appears that neither party is willing to back down.
Initially, rumors swirled that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 might hit theaters during Dussehra. Meanwhile, other reports suggested that Singham Again might be postponed to prevent a potential financial setback for both films. However, it has now been confirmed that both films are racing towards a Diwali release, with post-production work in full swing.
The excitement surrounding Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is palpable. With filming completed, Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan recently wrapped up a photoshoot for the movie's poster, further stoking anticipation. A teaser for the film has also been prepared and is expected to drop soon, kicking off a 45-day marketing blitz leading up to its release.
According to the reports, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to be the biggest entry in the franchise yet. The film, directed by Anees Bazmee, is expected to capitalize on the current demand for horror-comedy, a genre that has seen significant success with recent releases like Munjya and Stree 2. The previous installment, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, was a post-pandemic hit, grossing over ₹180 crore domestically. With a star-studded cast including Tripti Dimri, Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit, Rajpal Yadav, and Sanjay Mishra alongside Kartik Aaryan, expectations for the third installment are sky-high.
On the other side of the ring is Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, the latest in the action-packed Singham franchise. Despite earlier reports suggesting possible delays due to the extensive VFX work required, noted film critic Taran Adarsh recently confirmed via Twitter that the film will indeed be released during Diwali. The official release date announcement is expected soon.
Singham Again promises to be the biggest film of the franchise, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Tiger Shroff, alongside the franchise's stalwart, Ajay Devgn. With a budget of ₹250 crore, this film is poised to deliver the high-octane action that fans of the series have come to expect.
Both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again are positioned to dominate the box office, but with the two films releasing on the same weekend, the stakes couldn't be higher.
