Amitabh Bachchan Returns as Host for 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' Season 16; Actor Shares Picture

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is all set to don the host's hat again for his popular TV quiz show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) as it enters its 16th season. On Thursday, the Bollywood Shahenshah shared a black-and-white picture from the KBC 16 sets on the social media platform X, captioned, "T 5082 - BACK to KBC 16th season .." 

In another candid click, Bachchan can be seen running, with the caption, "T 5083 - yes back and still no change in routine - the run is on" View the image.

Sony TV had earlier announced the show's return with a promo on social media, responding to popular demand. The promo began with an emotional speech by Big B as he wrapped up the last season and concluded with a voiceover stating, "Har aarambh ka ant taye hai magar apnon ke pyar mein jo anand hai.. to har ant ke baad shubharambh nishchit hai.." Big B added, "Gunja jo aapke pyar ka shankhnaad, to aana padega fir".

Amitabh Bachchan has been the iconic host of KBC since its inception in 2000, with the exception of the third season in 2006 when Shah Rukh Khan took over the hosting duties.

Recent Projects and Upcoming Films

Recently, Amitabh Bachchan was seen in the futuristic film "Kalki 2898 AD," which has been met with widespread acclaim. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the post-apocalyptic film is inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in the year 2898 AD. The star-studded cast includes Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Disha Patani, with cameos by Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, and Mrunal Thakur.

In addition to KBC and "Kalki 2898 AD," Amitabh Bachchan is busy with several other projects. He is currently shooting for "Vettaiyan," co-starring Rajinikanth. He is also involved in "Fakt Purusho Maate," a sequel to the critically acclaimed "Fakt Mahilao Maate," where he will be playing the role of God. This film, written and directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi, explores generational divides and the clash between tradition and modernity. The cast includes Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara, and Darshan Jariwala. "Fakt Purusho Maate" is scheduled for release on August 15.
