Vishal Batra is delighted as 'Shershaah' starring Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani is being well received!

‘Shershaah’ based on Kargil War hero Late Captain Vikram Batra’s life has been showering with immense love from the audience across the world. The movie was premiered on Amazon Prime Video starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani as the leads.

Sidharth plays Captain Batra in the film, and Kiara plays his ladylove Dimple.

Vishal Batra, Captain Vikram Batra's brother, is delighted that the film is being well received. He believes the two actors did an excellent job in their respective roles.

“It's never easy to play someone. Sidharth Malhotra worked hard for his role, putting in a lot of sweat, toil, and labor. Kiara Advani, who plays Dimple, has also been very convincing” says Vishal Batra.

He also stated that Dimple was not Vikram's fiancee because the couple was not engaged. However, the family was planning to marry them soon, and Vishal Batra recollects Dimple's last words to him before his brother died.

“I recall Dimple and I having lunch together six days before the fateful day. She had come to see me off; I was on my way to Delhi for work. After Vikram returns, will you dance at our wedding na?' she said. 'I will definitely dance,” I replied.

Shershaah was set to reach theatres last year, however lockdown due to COVID-19 forced cinemas to close, delaying the film's release. Shershaah was pushed further in early 2021, and it was finally announced that the film would be streamed online. Shershaah is directed by Vishnu Varadhan and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment.
