Responding to the uproar,  Khan issued an apology in a subsequent video, wherein he attempted to justify the altercation as a "personal matter between a teacher and his student." He identified the student, Naveed Hasnain, as the individual subjected to punishment in the video. Hasnain, standing alongside Khan in the same video, explained that the missing bottle contained water sanctified by a pir, emphasizing that it was a significant item.

"He is my father and my teacher. He loves us a lot too. Whoever has done this act is blackmailing to defame my teacher," Hasnain stated in defense of Khan, suggesting an attempt to tarnish the singer's reputation.

Reports indicate that Khan sought forgiveness from Hasnain immediately after the incident. Despite his efforts to clarify the situation, criticism continued to mount on social media platforms, with many dismissing Khan's explanation for his actions as "lame" and "embarrassing."
